Overview
- We will take you to one of the best spots during a sunrise/sunset. You’ll witness an awe-inspiring experience as you watch the light change with different hues of colors right before your eyes. After this breathtaking experience we’ll venture off into the restricted area of Monument Valley.
- The temperature of Monument Valley in the morning and evening is pretty low. Visitors who take sunrise or sunset tour should do enough preparation to keep warm.
- In winter, the depart time of Sunrise Tour is 4:30am. Sunset Tour is not operated temparately.
- A temporary fuel surcharge of $20 per person applies and must be paid on site.

What if you miss the appointed time or departure date?
Once the booking is confirmed, an absence or failure to show up on the scheduled date or time is a no-show. No refunds or reschedules will be issued for no-shows and late arrivals.
Other important information
- Please note: Due to continuously rising fuel costs, all Jeep Tour products will see a $20 per person price increase, effective September 16, 2026 (PST). Guests are required to pay the $20 per person surcharge on-site in cash or by credit card.
- All tour times are based on Mountain Standard Time. (Mountain Daylight Savings Time)
- There is a 1-hour time difference between Utah and Arizona so keep that in mind when you are booking. During the Fall we are the same time as Arizona time, during the Spring we are 1 hour ahead of Arizona time. (Fall back, Spring Forward)
- We recommend you wear hiking shoes, bring a fully charged phone or camera, a hat and a raincoat if the weather permits a raincoat.
- Our vehicles are open air trucks that seat 12-15 people comfortably or you have the option of requesting an enclosed vehicle. We do have pet friendly tours and vehicles. Please be sure to reserve and specify which vehicle you prefer.
- To start the tour, park at the Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park Visitor Center, meet us at the turquoise tour boothlocated on the West end of the parking-lot.
- Visitors are required to check in for the tour on site at least 30 mins in advance, with valid official ID and confirmation voucher.
- According to Nevada & Arizona Seat Belt and Car Seat Laws,all children younger than 8 years old or under 60 pounds mustbe secured in a Booster Seat.
- Customer can bring the booster seat by themselves or they can rent it for $30 each.
- Hiking shoes and sun protection are recommended. Please prepare rain gear by yourself if needed.
- If visitors don't check in on time, no matter for what reasons, the reserved tour will become invalid instantly without any refund.
- Under bad weather, local staff has the right to cancel reserved tours, issuing full refund and no compensation.
- Monument Valley time zone is 1 hour ahead of US Pacific Time Zone. Please arrange your time well.

Our driver Emory was fantastic. He was a wonderful guide. Lots of great information about the monuments. Would like to thank him again for taking photos for us and stopping for great shots.
Benny took us on a sunset drive through Monument Valley and it was breathtakingly beautiful! He shared the names of the mountains and some history of the area which was extremely interesting. The colors of the buttes, the canyons, the arches, and the desert at sunset were amazing - we even had a rainbow!! He even sang us a Navajo song of blessings and gratitude in a canyon. All in all, it was a delightful experience and I would highly recommend it.
We had an amazing tour of Monument Valley with Amory! He was a fantastic guide — very friendly, knowledgeable, and welcoming. As a Navajo guide, he shared much more than just information about the landscape. He gave us a real insight into Navajo culture, history, traditions, and the deep connection his people have with Monument Valley. That made the whole experience feel much more authentic and meaningful. We learned a lot, saw some incredible places, and really enjoyed spending the tour with him. Amory made our visit to Monument Valley truly special and unforgettable. Highly recommended! Thank you again, Amory!
Benny was a great guide. Rain poured as we started our tour, so he brought us back and gave us time to change to dry clothes. We then headed out for a beautiful tour where we learned the names of the various stunning formations, and Benny helped us see the shapes people have imagined in the formations. We were able to see the special features referred to as The Arches. Our guide took advantage of the wonderful acoustics these overhangs provide to sing a special Navajo song for us. The Arches are only accessible with a guide. We were thrilled to see the petroglyphs left by the ancient Anastasi, small rams clearly drawn on the wall of the final arch we saw. Benny also pointed out spots where movies and television series have filmed. Our group of eight had a great experience as we traveled close to these majestic natural features.
